VALLEY STEAMFEST With April just around the corner it won’t be long before the exciting sights and sounds of steam will fill the skies of Maitland for Hunter Valley Steamfest, to be held on the weekend of the 18th & 19th April 2009. Tickets for train journeys have just been released to be a part of this wonderful celebration of all things steaming. Over the Steamfest weekend shuttle excursions will operate from Maitland to Newcastle and Paterson, pulled by the mighty steam locomotives 3526 and 3642. Trips onboard the vintage Tin Hare Diesel engines will also be available with timetables to be released within the next few weeks. Shuttles
are an excellent option for families and give all visitors to the
area the chance to feel the spirit of Steamfest. Bookings for shuttle
excursions are highly recommended as tickets are limited.
