See the Dolphins - Enjoy a scenic dolphin watch cruise on the glorious waterways of the Port. With over 160 resident dolphins you’ve got an excellent change of spotting these playful mammals, not to mention seeing our beautiful Bay from the water.

Discover the amazing history of the area - A walk up Tomaree Headlands not only affords breathtaking views of the crystal blue waterways but takes you to a Heritage listed Fort with a 6 inch land gun, an 8 inch naval gun, torpedo tubes and a radar stationed on top of Mount Tomaree. A remnant of Shoal Bay’s involvement in WWII, this historical sight is linked closely to the iconic Country Club Hotel, legendary in the area and established since 1934. The historic pub was originally built in 1934 and has survived war and fire. Historical storyboards are featured throughout the pub detailed the amazing connection the Port Stephens area has with history shaping events.

Experience the Sand Dunes - Explore the massive sand dune systems of the 32km long Stockton Beach, the largest coastal sand dune system in Australia. Take a 4WD or 6WD tour of the dunes or conquer the dunes on your own quad bike. For something different, go horseback on a trail ride.

Take a self-drive tour and experience the Williams River, taking in Tanilba House, Sketchley Cottage and Tomago House. Don’t miss the range of unique museums and galleries on offer.

Discover Koalas in the Wild - Take a leisurely walk along the tree lined banks of Tilligerry Creek a koala sighting is almost guaranteed. Visit the habitat centre and learn about the natural wonders of the area.

Explore the National Park - Take a walk up the striking Tomaree Headland and your climb is rewarded spectacular views of the bay and the offshore islands. Walk along fascinating tracks leading to historic sights and spectacular beaches.

Admire the Whales - Between late May and July approximately 3,500 whales migrate north to the tropics and return between September and November. These awesome mammals as they perform their graceful acrobatic displays will take your breath away.

Indulge in Fresh Seafood – Taste the abundance of seafood that leaps straight from the sea to the plate at the many seafood restaurants around the port. Visit our Underwater world - Go snorkelling or diving at Fly Point Marine Park or take a boat dive out side the Port. With 5 islands to dive around with everything from the sea caves, walls, and sponge gardens and a number of wreck dives, there is a whole new world waiting for you to discover. A well known dive spot, discover the stunning marine biodiversity hidden under Port Stephens.

Play on the Peninsular – Hire a bike and ride to a café for lunch, visit our theme parks, see wonderful local arts, crafts and museums. Visit historical sights, or get close to native animals at our animal farm. Take a commentated tour by bus or trike. For the sport lovers play a round of golf at one of our three championship golf courses, have a hit on the driving range, or learn to water-ski!
